Tired Legs...

We were delighted to have newbie Rebecca join us in the second match and she made it quite clear that defence was her natural habitat. Rebecca and Bryony did a superb job of keeping the opposing attackers at bay and made some brilliant tips and interceptions.

Newly-engaged (hooray!) Rachel tried to put off the opposition with her great in-play tactics in addition to lines such as ‘sweat like a hippo, run like a fox’ as she was making the centre pass, but alas, this didn’t bewilder Chequers as much as we’d hoped and we slipped further behind as time went on. The final score was 5-29 and Rebecca Sheead’s effective and fearless defence saw her bag her first Hillcrest POM title.

Our new mums (congratulations Ros!) and mums-to-be were sorely missed but we know they were there in spirit. We don’t begrudge them staying at home to make the most of the warm, sensible option, as long as they are back to don their bibs again really soon.
