Well it certainly wasn’t our best performance this season. We had a very slow start with a completely new and untested combination – due to availability at the start of the match (Kate, Emma, Lizzie, Sam, Nicki, Cassie, Rosie). The combination was tested and I think we can safely say it wasn’t our strongest! Second quarter changes were made (Gina came on as WD and Kate come off), but Hillcrest were slow off the mark and the passing was not its most accurate – a lot of balls were thrown away. Unfortunately it was not a good day at the office for the shooters. Hillcrest were much stronger in the second half of the game, Kate came back on and Rosie and Cassie swapped which made it more difficult for the opposition to get the ball in the circle. We won both the third and fourth quarter 9-8 and 11-7. We had, however, left ourselves with too much to do and we lost 35-31.
