The U10/U11’s gathered at Nonsuch for a very autumnal first fixture of the season. The team consisted of Ella, Marin, Reena, Sophie, Amiya, Niamh and Holly. The girls started strong with their first match against Ashtead All Stars and a win of 8-0. The second match against Whitton was as successful with a score of 10-0 and our third match against Dorking finished with our final win 10-1.

The team had time to reflect between each match and the coaches were impressed to see each girl taking advice on board and using it to improve their game. Good examples of this were Sophie’s position in the circle, Amiya’s improvement in her shooting, Holly finding space on court, Niamh’s defending skills and Reena’s positioning on court.

A special mention to Marin and Ella who both encouraged their team players and were instrumental in controlling the speed of the game which resulted in less footwork and better passing for the team. Both girls were strong in both attack and defence as well as achieving excellent shooting stats. Fantastic leadership skills girls!

The success was an amazing group effort and the coaches found it hard to pick one player of the match so we each chose a player - well done to Reena, Amiya and Niamh. Congratulations also to Holly who was voted players player of the match.
