Red Team

Final score HILLCREST 28 ROUNDWOOD 10

TEAM: JULIETTE; NIA;AMELIA P;ISABEL;KATE;AMELIA S and MATHILDA(U13)

Despite the weather the girls had a good warm up and started strong in the first quarter being ahead 6-1. Everyone worked hard defending the passes and driving onto the ball and we increased our lead to 13-3 at half time. We made a few team changes to allow some players a rest in the third quarter, this did not change the game and everyone rose to the challenge and continued to play a strong game. In the final quarter we changed the team back, both shooters Amelia S and Mathilda played an excellent game, neither missing many shots and looked very comfortable playing together as if they had played together for a long time. The defence worked well to minimise the oppositions chances to score:

QTR1 6-1
QT2.13-3
QTR3 21-5
QTR4 28-10

Final score HILLCREST 29 SPENCER 3
After a slow start with only 3 goals the team played a strong game, coming in front of their players, there was some great attack work from Isabel, Kate, Mathilda and Amelia S. Down in the defence end Juliette, Nia and Amelia P made it very difficult for the opposition to get the ball into their circle, some outstanding interceptions by all. At half time it was 14-2. Despite team changes through-out everyone put in 100% effort and in Q3 the opposition didn’t score a goal. Q4 we continued to increase our lead, statistics for the shooters Mathilda 14 goals and Amelia S 15- very evenly matched-well done all:

QTR1 3-0
QT2.14-2
QTR3 23-2
QTR4 29-3

Players player goes to Mathilda (3 votes) Amelia S (1 vote) Nia (1 vote) and Amelia p (1 vote)
Coaches Player- I have chosen two,It was very difficult to choose as I liked Mathilda’s unselfish playing and how she fitted into the team seamlessly and her shooting was very accurate. My second choice Player goes to Amelia P- some fantastic interceptions and reading of the game. Well done.

Blue Team

Final score HILLCREST 23 DORKING 7
TEAM: GEORGIA (U13) CHANTELLE (U13) HANNAH, SARAH, GENEVIEIVE (U13) LILLY, OLIVIA D ‘SOPHIE AND MARDEHYA (U13)

We were short of players in the Blue team and were lucky to have Chantelle, Georgia, Genevieve and Mardehya from the Under 13s to support us today. So with 9 players it was always going to be difficult with team changes, however everyone took on board what was said and gave it 100%. A special thanks to Hannah Sarah and Lilly who played out of position. The score at half time was 10-2 and with Chantelle, Georgia and Hannah in defence in the final quarter we increased our lead to win 23-7:

QTR1 5-0
QTR2 10-2
QTR3 14-5
QTR4 23-7

Final score HILLCREST 20 THAMES DITTON 6
This was the harder game of the two we played and after a slow start of 4-0 in the first quarter we got into a better game. We made some good passes into the circle where both Sophie and Mardehya shot very well. We had a strong defence and both Georgia, Chantelle and Sarah made it difficult for the opposition to score- some fantastic interceptions. Everyone worked well as a team and listened to advice from the side lines- at times it was a bit manic and we needed to remember to keep our game steady, when we slowed things down our passing became more accurate. A special thank you to all the unders 13s who we couldn’t have played without and who played so well with the U14s.
Shooting statistics Mardehya 11 goals, Sophie 9 goals:

QTR1 4-0
QTR2 9-2
QTR3 13-6
QTR4 20-6

Well done everyone I am so proud of todays efforts.

Players player goes to Hannah (3 votes) Mardehya (3votes) Genevieve (1 vote) and Sophie (1 vote)
Coaches Player Again it was difficult to choose as both shooters did exceptionally well and worked so well together for the first time, however I have chosen Hannah for playing out of position both as centre and wing defence, and giving it her best efforts. Well done.
