3. CODE OF CONDUCT FOR PLAYERS

  • I will respect and follow the rules and regulations set by England Netball.
  • I will respect that everyone is different, but I will remember that Netball brings us together.
  • I will respect my coaches, the officials, club members, and anyone in the Netball environment.
  • I will respect everyone involved in Netball, regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, disability, religious beliefs, occupation, or sexuality.
  • I will respect my coaches and other players, by not having conversations with others while skills are being demonstrated, or other key aspects of training are taking place.
  • I will not bully or harass anyone involved in Netball.
  • will not say or do anything unfriendly, hurtful, or inappropriate. This includes posting on social media in a negative manner.
  • I will be on time to training and matches, by going straight to the playing courts and not congregating in the car park or around the sides of the clubhouse. If I am going to be late or cannot attend a training session or match, I will make coaches and/or my team captain aware.
  • I will make the coaches aware of any injuries or illness at the start of a training session.
  • I will put my phone away at the start of training sessions, so I can participate fully. I will inform coaches of legitimate reasons why I may need to check my phone during a session – i.e., family emergency, children at home, team captains asking if players who are not at training are available for an upcoming match.
  • I will dress appropriately for training and matches.
  • I will allow everyone (including myself) to get the most out of training sessions, by actively working hard to follow instructions and executing drills as instructed.
  • I will maintain my spot on a team by being dedicated and committed to training, and being the best teammate, I can be. I understand that if I do not meet these expectations, I could lose my spot on my respective team.
  • Applicable to under 18s – if my behaviour is disruptive/unacceptable at training and/or matches, then parent(s)/carer(s) will be made aware, and a warning given. If unacceptable behaviour continues, then a player may be asked to leave Hillcrest.
