Sticking with our political theme, match two was as hard-fought as the latest US presidential campaign. Hillcrest (Clinton - can you guess who won yet?) made a great start in the fight for victory and Laura and Lorraine were doing a brilliant job of scoring the goals, backed up by a strong support team around the circle and leaving the opposition only one ahead at half time. Our defence made some well-timed interceptions but their strong attackers and super finishes meant we weren't able to regain the ground we'd lost and the result went the way we all hoped it wouldn't: 21-13 to Lifeline. We should be thankful that the consequences of our loss won't affect quite as many people as Clinton's.
Bryony was the opposition's well-deserved choice of POM despite a - thankfully short - bout of cramp. Clarissa was coach's POM for her hugely improved game and great drives for the ball.
Special thanks to Clare for being our brilliant coach & umpire and to Ros and Bump who stuck it out until the end. Even the threat of storm Doris wasn't enough to put them off.
