The first match of the night could easily be likened to the British public's response to the Brexit campaign: weak to start but rapidly gaining momentum once we (the Left) realised we were losing ground. Progress was made and some goals were scored but their tight defence and slick, well-rehearsed moves in the circle (Farage and BoJo) meant the damage was done and we just weren't able to catch up. The votes were in and we were out: 5 goals to 34.
