Junior League

The Nonsuch League started in October 2008 and sees the league go from strength to strength.

This league reflects the growing strength of junior netball in Surrey and the demand for more local competition.  The league is run using a mini tournament format on four Sundays throughout the season and is managed by a team of volunteers from the participating clubs.

Hillcrest Under 11’s Were Unbeatable!!

Hillcrest U11 High Five netball team cemented their League win with victory in the end of season tournament at Nonsuch High School on 11th March.  The squad of 9 Year six girls played 9 matches, winning 8, drawing 1, with 80 goals for and only 10 goals against!  The girls - Anna Gardner, Claudia Whaites, Flora McEwan, Freya McEwan, Georgia Dick, Lauren Hyndley, Nell Rudd-Jones, Philippa Lloyd and Rio Tooney received their gold medals for winning the league and a netball for winning the tournament from Carol McGrail of Surrey County Netball Association.

It was also a good day for the Hillcrest B squad as they received their bronze medals for coming third in the League.

The year 6 teams at Hillcrest have been particularly strong this year. A lot of the girls have been playing at the club for 3 seasons and this means that their netball skills are highly developed. This has contributed to their success. However, we also have strength in depth as the second team, made up mostly from players who only joined the club this year, came third in the competition. They have benefitted from regular attendance at training and the high standard of the players with whom they train.  To top it all, the girls are good friends and have a love of the game that will be with them for a very long time.
